About Lorrie Brown, EdD
Lorrie Brown has performed and presented classes around the world. She designs customized outreach and has supervised internships and educational development efforts.
She served in The United States Army and as the Oboe Section Leader of The United States Army Band “Pershing’s Own” from Washington, DC. Her military awards cited her outreach, children’s shows, historic events, performances for world leaders and at presidential inaugurals, and for security support duties during 9/11 “Pentagon rescue and recovery” operations.
Dr. Brown was the Woodwind Area Coordinator, Professor of Oboe (Adjunct) and Professor of Class Woodwinds (Adjunct) at George Mason University. Earlier in her career she was the Oboe Associate Instructor at the Manhattan School of Music in NYC and also performed with the New York Philharmonic (as a substitute and extra oboist).
She earned a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of Phoenix, a Master of Music degree in Oboe from the Manhattan School of Music, and a Bachelor of Music in Performance degree from Arizona State University. Dr. Brown recently completed certifications related to emotional trauma intervention and is learning about peace building.
